Please do not stand on a chair or a tall ladder to change a bulb you cannot reach. That is a good job to hand off, and with LED it comes up far less often.

LED upgrades in older Sun City homes

Many Sun City homes still have the fixtures they were built with: fluorescent tubes in the kitchen, incandescent cans in the hallway and a bare bulb in the garage. They work, but the light can be dim or uneven, and the bulbs keep burning out.

Some fixtures can take an LED retrofit kit, and some are better replaced with a new LED fixture. Older fluorescent fixtures have parts inside that wear out and are worth taking out of the picture. We look at each fixture and any dimmers on the circuit and recommend what fits.

Can my existing fixtures be converted to LED?

Many can. Recessed cans often take an LED retrofit, and fluorescent fixtures can be converted or replaced. We look at what you have and tell you which makes sense.

Is LED light harsh or blue?

It does not have to be. LED comes in warm light close to old bulbs and in cooler, brighter light. We help you pick for each room.

Will LED lights work with my dimmers?

Not always. Older dimmers can make LED lights flicker or buzz. We match the dimmer to the lights so they dim smoothly.

Do LED lights need new wiring?

Usually not. They connect to the existing wiring. We check the fixture box and the connections while we are there.

How much does LED lighting installation cost?

It depends on how many fixtures, whether they are retrofits or new fixtures, and the ceiling height. We look first and give you a clear price before any work starts.

Do you warranty LED lighting work?
