Commercial electricianTenant improvementsIndustrial controlsSome older West Valley homes were wired with single-strand aluminum. We confirm what you have, explain your options plainly, then repair the connections or replace the circuits, whichever fits your home. You hear the price before we start.
If any of these sound familiar, call and describe it. We will tell you honestly whether a new panel is the answer.
Homes of that era in the West Valley were sometimes built with single-strand aluminum branch wiring for outlets, switches and lights. Aluminum swells and shrinks more than copper as it warms and cools, and it forms a film where it connects. Over the years, those connections are where trouble starts.
There is more than one way to deal with it. In some homes, each connection at outlets, switches and splices can be repaired with materials made for aluminum wire. In others, replacing some or all of the aluminum circuits with copper makes more sense. A licensed electrician should look at your home and walk you through which option fits.
We check the panel and a sample of outlets, switches and splices to confirm the wiring type and how the connections are holding up.
We explain each option for your home, what it involves and what it does not, without pressure.

Not always. Repairing every connection with materials made for aluminum is an option in many homes. Replacing circuits with copper is another. We look at your home and explain which fits.
Aluminum moves more than copper as it heats and cools, and it forms a film where it connects. Over time that can loosen connections and make them run hot, which is a fire risk. The trouble is usually at the connections, not the wire between them.
Some devices are made for aluminum wire, but it is still a decision for a licensed electrician who has looked at the whole circuit. Splices inside boxes and at light fixtures matter too.
Many people live in homes with aluminum wiring. Watch for warm outlets, flickering or a hot smell, and have the wiring evaluated so you know where it stands.
It depends on the size of the home, how many connections there are and whether you repair connections or replace circuits. We look first and give you a clear price before any work starts.
